RELEASE OF 2015 KCPE RESULTS

RELEASE OF 2015 KCPE RESULTS.
CS education, Dr Alfred matiangi looked, unhappy may be because of drop in performance in public schools, high number of teacher abseteesm in some counties which he put at 70% but to me this is unrealistic figure unless supported by figures and how it happens because there are several types of abseentism, he sarcastically call the normal release of national exams a ritual may be because its a culture which lacks  to address holistic contributions to the performance, he also point out that table discussions on matters affecting education system is of priority now going forward, he too put knec on task to be responsible on the 30 minutes speech read by knec chairman and full of 'what we shall do as knec to address various challenges ranging from irregularities and others',

CS matiangi didn't read any speech but he spared time by uploading to relevant platforms for access.
He pointed out to the public that major review of curriculum is now in place and might be in its piloting stage some time later in 2017 or so..

Am happy that the inherited colonial curriculum which is no longer used even in colonial land is soon vanishing. Yes it has brought us this far but it has wasted talents, time and resources to millions of Kenya's since its inception in mid 80s.
Being in class for more than 16yrs only to come out and hustle or get underpaying job is wasting.

Though I have not scan the curriculum yet,but I personally welcome. If Ugandan child takes 6 years in primary and Tanzania child takes 7 years, then why don't we customize our curriculum to meet the needs of our current society through learners.

Mismatch of careers due to curriculum overload and emphasis on academics and taking less concern on  technical and talent areas to me has been a worrying trend.

I think,a time has come that we need not to think that education is primary, secondary and university, and those who don't make this path are failures,I think  we need to broaden our scope that there are other areas we can put learners eg talent schools/academies, technical schools in order to bring out what is in them which can build this Kenya and Kenyan families and beyond.

Thank you.

Wish you all happy new year 2016.

The Cry of a forgoten Voter

The Cry Of A Voter.........By  Kapkiai Joseph

To win an election means the majority of the people in all polling centers voted in favor of the winner. It may also mean;
  • people trusted that the resources they are entitled to them(voters) will be well sourced, managed and distributed equally without fear or favor of  whosoever.
  • people believed in Your abilities of approach to the plights people are faced with.
  • that those places whose children study on the shades of trees will get classrooms
  • that those places whose mothers deliver on the road sides or die because of delivery complications get a nearby dispensary to access maternal services.
  • that the sick who are carried by wheelbarrows and safari beds to dispensaries which are over 10kms away who sometimes succumb to death and die on the road sides get a good road network and a nearby dispensary.
  • that those children who travel over 7kms to get education get a nearby school to access education.
  • that those youth who have tarmacked for years for lack of enabling environment to give them jobs get fertile working environment where the youth can explore their potentials to their fullest. that the youth becomes a resource and not a burden to the society.
  • that the elderly whose services and leadership was enjoyed by many should be supported in their old age to counter the challenges which comes with old age.
  • that people with disabilities and less fortunate people in the society are also catered for.
  • that the fundamental rights of everyone in the society are heard and protected.

"the vehicle you are driving i may not drive but please give me education
the house you live in i may not live but please give me food
the type of food you eat i may not eat but please give me accessible medical services
the water you drink i may not drink but please drill me a bore hole or a dam
the post you hold i may not get there but create for me an enabling environment
the security you have i may not have but please give me a hope and assurance to see tomorrow".

Our leaders, we held you responsible for the pledges you pledged the electorates only to forget and varnish.
our Leaders, we held you responsible for any pledge which came out of your mouths only to divert to other places.
when you were campaigning you said everything, but now you are unreachable and not ready to go back to electorates and address their plights and sort the possible and impossible.
Please leaders if you pledged any of the above to your electorates and you have done completely nothing,God is watching and your time is coming.Better promise one which you can accomplish than many which will never be done...

......a leader can be in leadership for a year and brings great change to the lives of people...leadership which can be felt by even unborn....a leader don't need hundred years to bring change!....i wonder if our leaders are ready to die with us!..Leaders,change our societies and you will have change yours too.
